Pop ups
Do we have to have that Diet Pill ad pop up thingy? I love the Whoosh Fairy and the Food Pyramid pop up, but that diet pill thing is offensive.

Hi K,
I am not aware of any diet pill popup ads on our site. If you see one, please save it and attach here with your post so I know what we're talking about. The only popup ad we are running is for the Atkins Center. We have a policy against popup ads, but the exception was made for the Atkins Center since it is very relavent to our topic, and it is, well, Atkins. :). Wa'il |
Thanks, Wa'il. I will try to do that next time I see one. Of course, since I asked that question, I haven't seen one pop up! Not even the Fairy! As soon as I see that diet pill thing I will try to capture it and show you.

Also, along with saving the add, it's good to click on it and copy the URL, so we can tell which website/company it belongs to.
Note as well, that there are different types of popups, such as "hidden" popups which go behind your broswer. You only see them when you close or minimize your browser. They may have been there from previous pages visited, and only appear when you close the window, and voila. Wa'il |
I clicked on the diet pill popup and here is where it took me.
http://www.usarx.com/ Also, a pop up comes up that says, Additional Diabetes Resources and Are you at risk for Diabetes...etc. Appears to be an ad for a diabetes medicine. I only encounter this when I come to this website, but not always. thanks for looking into it. kat |
Hi Katrine,
That is not an ad that we run on our site. This might be due to installing software on your machine that contain adware. Wa'il |
