Can you do Induction for more than 2 weeks?

I was just wondering why Induction is only 2 weeks. Most people seem to lose weight more quickly during Induction. I would think you could do it longer. What is the best thing to add in after the Induction period. I don't want to stop losing weight quickly. I am so bad about seeing results. I need to know that I am seeing results or I will lose my motivation. :nono:

You can do induction for "at least 6 months" safely, Atkins states in his book. That os course is providing you do it as he writes it. Lots of veggies etc.

He also says that with just 30 lbs left to go, it's time to step onto OWL.

It's up to each of us to choose. 2 week induction or lengthened induction. I have read of people doing a total weightloss period on inductin but to me that doesn't seem too smart. When do you ever learn to eat a balanced diet you really can maintain for a life time?

You can stay on induction for long as you like. I was on it for a year the first time, with good results (lost 45 pounds in approx. 7 months, with heavy exercising).

I didn't really add anything back post induction, other than macademia nuts, pork rinds, and a bit of cream cheese every few days. Had no dairy other than that.

Of course I don't need to have a large variety in my meals and don't bore easily. I could eat the same thing every single day.

Congrats on the weight loss and keep it up!

I have been doing induction for what seems like forever...but thats because I always seem to fall of the wagon and need to be re-induced....

I am kinda worried about moving in too more carbs but I know its recommended to do all four stages.

Induction

You can do as long as u like. and feel good.
Call atkins center if you need too. But u will be fine even doing over 1year.

I think the important thing is how you are feeling..If your feeling good, then your probably alright to stay with induction...It is a good idea though to periodically have your lab work checked to make sure they are in check.
