Hi all, newby here = 4 days in and I'm getting worried!

H there, Poundsoff here (PO) I've been hanging around here for a few days resding messages and I thought that I better come on in and say 'Hi'
I started Atkins on Wed this week and before that I lost about 20 lbs on Fresh Start, it had simialr principles to LC WOE but also was a metabolism program and a bit more lenient! Then I stalled big time and since April '03 put all the weight back on, I really wished I had maintained the LC WOE but didn't! So here I am.
I have a worry, I am off on a big Hol in Dec desperate to lose weight over anything, but in the last 4 days since doing Atkins I feel as I've got bigger, I mean my chin/face!!!!! - now that's really put me in a downward spiral and feeling l9ousy today.
On average I eat 2 egss some grated cheese for Breakfast
snakc on ham/chicken
Chicken salad for Lunch no dressing
snack on ham and cheese in afternoon
chicken/meat/fish ect in eve with veges and salad
All my portions are realtively small and I don't exceed more than 15g carbs per day!
I'm taking my water, psyllium husk, vitamins and evening primrpose oil tablets, so what is happening, please help, i know it's early but I'm so scared that it may not work!

Hi PO,

Welcome to the forum:wave:. You say that you feel bigger. Could it be that you are retaining water? Your meals seem to be OK for induction, but you may not be eating enough carbs which could be making you feel lousy. That combined with the withdrawal of carbs and caffeine. Did you measure yourself before you started Atkins as well as getting weighed?

Stick at it. Everyone is different and adjusts to the change in eating in different ways. I didn't notice much change at all in the first week. My brother was on Atkins for 2 weeks without losing an ounce! He then lost 7 lbs the next week.

I hope this has been of some help. Hope to hear from you again.

Hang in there! and get all your measures so you can track your progress. Remember to eat fat!
Best wishes to you!

It is too early to tell but are you hungry or satisfied? You should be eating whenever hungry, until satisfied.

It seems to me that you should be eating more veggies too. Natural fiber and 20 carbs is the approx minimum. The diet used to have much less but Dr. Atkins found that it wasn't as healthy or effective with the weightloss.

Anyway, welcome!

I eat until I am full, I have done a weekly measurment today, my first reading, and I have lost 4.45 inches altogether over the 7 areas I measure. So I'm pleased about that, I have a weigh in on Wed so I will keep track of progress.
Point taken about the veges/xarbs, i also feel that I should have more!
Thank you all so much with your reassurances.

I staretd on Tuesday night last week. I did weigh myself, but did not measure. I have tried reall hard to stick to the diet pretty much. If anyone has any suggestions as far as what would be good things to eat at meals, please let me know. Also, is there a certain time of night you should not be eating after?
Thanks...
