Splenda Question

I'm on day 2 of Atkins, and have been advised to use Splenda as a sweetener while on the program. Since, I'm not familiar with the brand, do they sell it packaged like the other sweeteners (Equal, Sweet-n-Low) in the sugar aisle? Can I use it as sweetener in coffee? Thanks!!

Yes they do have it packaged in the sugar isle. It comes in a yellow package as either packers or just free. I use it in my coffee every day.

If your grocery store doesn't carry it, ask the manager if they can get it in.

Great! I will use it in my coffee... Also, do you use cream for your coffee? If so, it would be the heaviest you can get for the plan, right?

Just remember that each packet counts as 1 carb and only 3 a day during induction.

I actually prefer equal but I use splenda because i'm a good little girl (well -- getting little).

I use Splenda and heavy whipping cream in my coffee. lkonze is right in that each packet counts as a carb and you are only allowed three a day during induction. I was a bad girl, though, and always forgot to count them. Didn't seem to hurt anything though.

Ahhh... thanks for the heads up! If Splenda's anything like Equal, I would hope I wouldn't be using anymore than 3 packets a day!! I'm going to try and be good to keeping it to 1c of coffee a day...

Thanks again!
