Chicken Bacon Wrappers

1 pkg cream cheese (8 oz)
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
chives to taste
garlic powder to taste
1 pound of bacon
toothpicks to seal if desired

Pound chicken breasts. In bowl mix cream cheese(soft) with chives and garlicpowder. Scoop cream cheese mixture in center of each chicken breast. Roll up and wrap each breast with bacon to seal shut. Wrap both ends.It may take whole pack of bacon to cover all chicken. Bake in baking dish for about 45 minutes at 350'. This is delicious!

Question about the cream cheese? Do you think I can use regular cheese instead of cream cheese?

I found this on another site.. I hope that is ok??

I cooked this one the other night with sauted (sp?) asparagus on the side and it was a hit. I took a small amount of heavy cream and mixed it with the butter and the natural gravy from chicken and bacon, and made a gravy for the chicken breasts. Yummy... :D

ok im not too good at cooking..

I didnt realize you should pound the chicken flat and roll the CHICKEN.. lol

what i did was push on them a little bit and put the cream cheese filling inside the indentation in the chicken lol.. then i wrapped it up with bacon and cooked it.. turned out yummy!! but when i do this again ill do it right haha

I did a slight variation and loved it. While the chicken breast was still a bit frozen, I slit the side and inserted some mozzarella cheese. Then wrapped with bacon (used toothpicks), sprinkled with italian seasoning & pepper. Then fried them in oil just enough to brown them (both sides). Then put the chicken in a glass dish and poured vegetable stock over them. Cooked for 30 minutes at 350. I did baste them with the broth after 15 minutes, and again after they were done. Yummy!

This is very simular to Dana Carpender's "Those Chicken Things". She has you grilling the chicken on a BBQ but with the bacon fat dripping on the coals it makes for a pretty dangerous time. I've tried it on the Forman Grill with limited success. I'll have to dty the baking method next. Thanks.
