fitday question re carb/fiber count
I've been using fitday to track my carb intake, and it's been worth it's weight in gold to me, however, I am wondering about the carb counts.
When I compare fitday's carb counter with Atkins' carb counter, there's sometimes quite a difference. On fitday should I be looking at the day's totals under the section that says "Calories Eaten Today" and subtracting the fiber count from carb count? Right now, it says 21 for carbs and 8 for fiber.. is my 'Atkins total' actually 13? (that would be nice :) ) thanks for any clarity! Penny :daizy: |
Hi Penny!
You answered your own question. Deduct the fiber from the carbs. Your total really IS 13! :cheer: Go eat some more carbs, girl! Lolli |
YAY!!!
 thanks for the answer, realized later that oops should've read the fitday sticky (and posted the q there - oops oops)... still learning, but loving the ride! Penny |
why do we subtract the fiber -- I've seen some labels subtracting the sugar -- this is very confusing. help

Because you don't digest fiber. It goes right your body, so it doesn't count.

fitday question re carb/fiber count" update
how about the sugar grams? I've seen some product labels proclaiming that you subtract the sugar grams. I didn't believe it but would like to know someone elses ideas on it. than  ks  :)

no, you don't subtract the sugar grams - that's weird, there's no way the sugar grams should be deducted from the carb total.
Could it have been sugar ALCOHOL grams? Those ARE deducted.... Confusing, I know :) |
