scale withdrawls

Ok I made a commitment to not weigh for a month but now I am hearing my scale call to me from the closet.

Darth Scale: Come to the dark side and weigh. Why did you buy me if you don't use me! (james earl jones voice)

Obi-pants-Kenobi: Use your measuring tape and let your pants be your guide Luke, uh i mean Jon.

Darth Scale: Jon I am your Father.

Jon: My father was a scale. boy mom must of been a freak.

Darth Scale: Um strike my last comment.

anyway I was really thinking about weighing because I have lost inches and I have to think that will reflect in my weight. And I want to have something else to brag about. I guess I won't give in for now.

LOL - very cute!

Sssh...don't say it to loud , but if you have shrunk and are feeling skinny I'd just havea quick sneak peak ;)

uh.....and what happens if the number on the scale doesn't reflect a loss?? Will you feel discouraged and disappointed? Or will it simply help you to realize that the scale isn't the best measure of success?

That's the real question.

For me if the numer isn't "right" then I get all upset....and that's silly. So that's why I'm sworn off it for a while...just to avoid the daily disappointment! You may have a totally different and healthy relationship with your father..... I mean scale.

Hi Jon,
I heard the scale too, i thought it was just me. LOL. Needless to say it disappointed me once again so is being moved to the BACK of the closet. Toady i am wearing a pair of jeans i have not been able to in a long time and guess what i can breath. thats better than the scale which changes it's mind from day to day.
Stay strong and toss that thing out. I have read alot of your posts and you totally inspire me, thank you.

Jon, that was very funny!

Are you just using a pair of test pants or are you measuring all over?

Quick! Take out the tape measure and measure everything you can think of that you want to shrink. (no, not that! )

Check every week or two and see what's been changing!

I've been measuring chest, waist, hips, upper thigh, knee, calf, ankle, upper arm, and wrist.

Every week on Sunday or Monday I update my measurements etc. in my journal. Something always changes!

Use the force Luke! (I mean Jon)

Yoda: Scale you must trust not. Full of the dark side it is.

scale wars

Hi everyone,

thanks for the good advice.

Beth- I try not to measure that.(too disapointing ;) ) I have measured. I lost 1 1/2 inches just from my waist last week and a total of 9 inches all over.

Skamito- great title!

Paleoanth- lmao! great yodaism.

great inches loss!

stay away from that evil scale - I sure wish I could !!! The thing beckons to me each and every morning --- maybe I should get it out of the bathroom!!! It's voice is much more seductive than James Earl's though - I do believe it id Pierce Bronson's....
