New kid on the block

I have been the Dr Atkins Diet Revolution route back in the early 90's and was successful. Lost 40 lbs in 6 months. I found it hard to stay on and gained all the weight back plus 40 lbs!!!

I have found another carb plan to follow and this plan is easier to follow and feel normal on.

Dr Ron Rosedale's plan is, in my opinion, by far the best low carb plan out there right now!!

Any opinion on Dr Ron Rosedale's plan?

Here's my vote -

Hi and Welcome

Can't say I've heard of Dr Rosedale's plan myself, but you are proof that the low carb way of live works, even if you then lapsed from it.

I'm glad you have found a plan that suits you and we all await to hear more of your progress to your goal.

welcome!

I've read Rosedale's speech that is on-line, but didn't know he had a book out yet. He was an employee of the Eades, so I'm guessing that (having switched the program a bit to avoid a lawsuit) if he struck out on his own, it's pretty much Protein Power. If not, educate us! :)

Or he could be a rebel against the Eades :) I'd like to know more, too. I just did an Amazon search and if Rosedale has a book, or a book in the works, Amazon doesn't know about it.

Welcome old man!

Please share with the Atkins folks what you found hard about the diet for the long term. Even though I have been initially succesful with it, I wonder what is in store for me, and what to look out for. Did you get to where you felt you should have and enter into a maintenance phase? What kinds of things did you eat? What was your fat/protein ratio and how many carbs did you generally eat?

Thanks and welcome to the forum.

Welcome aboard!

Like the others, I too would love to find out more about other low carb plans. Atkins is definitely working for me, but the more I now the better I will be able to make informed tweaks and craft a lifelong plan that will be optimal - both in terms of health and satisfaction.

Definitely consider starting and keeping a journal here - it's a great resource.

Dr Ron Rosedale doesn't have a book per se. Please read the 18 page interview that I put up a link for on my initial post.

This plan is a lot safer than Atkins and easier to stay on.

Take Care
