Faith.....aka Natrushka....

"Have you thought about a few Stillman days? "
Can you break this down for me?

Also...why no diet soda?

And is it true that alcohol (hards) has no carbs?

Thanks for your help!

Mmm Adey, your questions look like they have been taken from other posts? Context can matter, but I will try my best.

Are you asking what Stillman is? or why someone would have recommended it?

why no diet soda

Diet soda is not necesarrily a :nono: Everyone is different (this applies to artificial sweeteners, caffeine and low carb bars among many other things ) I try to avoid it; it gets in the way of the water I could be drinking in its place. The citric acid in soda's can cause problems for many (stalling). YMMV (Your Milage May Vary) and of course, all things in Moderation.

Some alcohol has no carbs, and some does (whiskey); there's a great carb counter located on this site under "Low Carb Tools"; Remember that while alcohol may be low on carbs your body would rather burn alcohol before it burns carbs or stored fat, so while it may not knock you out of ketosis it will slow your fat loss. It will also dehydrate you and lower your inhibitions, making it more likely you'll cheat or stray from LC.

hi Doodle

In August, a few of us did a low-carb project/study .. that involved having one Stillman day a week. Some of us are going to have a go at another project, starting in the next week or so, that will involve 2 Stillman days per week ... for 4 weeks. Scroll down to the My Journals forum, and click on Group Projects ... read through some of the threads there, and you'll get an idea how we're planning to do it. We've modified the original Stillman diet, made iit a bit stricter, and more low-carb ... the original Stillman diet was created in the early 70's ... and includes ketchup and other sugary condiments.

Maybe you might like to join us? I'm looking forward to the discipline ... last time around, I lost 4.5 lbs in 4 weeks, which is a big deal for me .. it broke a 2-month long stall!!

Thanks Doreen. Yep, i think I would be interested in joining you on the Stillman diet a few days a week. I will read the threads. The ketchup thing did strike me as strange! Doods.
