New Atkins Dieter - New to Forum

Hi all,

I just started Atkins on Friday and am still in Induction. I'm so excited that things are going well. I know I'm loosing weight, my pants are looser and I can wear my wedding ring without putting baby oil on my finger first! ;)

I was wondering though, has anyone noticed feeling 'fuzzy' a bit? I think I figured out I have to eat about every 4 hours and wanted to know if anyone else felt the same way? I don't feel like I want to eat, I just feel like my body needs to eat.

Thanks and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi! :)
Yep, I definitely felt foggy for the first 5-6 days, it gets much much better!!!
Funny thing I have figured out on this plan, if I am hungry, eat. What a concept! LOL Since I am no longer being driven by a carb addiction I can distinquish between true hunger and eating for the sake of it.
Hang in there! :)

Hi Analei! Welcome! :D Good luck on this WOL. It is a good idea to eat every three hours even if it is a little bit. It will help your metabolism.

Analei:
WELCOME!!!!!!

I am on day 14 of my induction. I went through alot of dizziness as my body adjusted to the new way of burning calories from my stored fat insteas of all those nasty carbs I was eating. I have two brothers who also are in induction right now...and they report dizziness also. VERY NORMAL. You are simply adjusting!

Get PLENTY OF WATER to wash away those spent fat cells and keep hydrated.

Rest when you need to.
Eat when you feel a need to...(low carb...stick to plan)
And the "overcharged" feeling will pass usually with several days.

Hope this reassures you that it simply means "its working"! :)

Good luck to you!
Jake

Hi Analei and welcome to the forum!

Yes, that "fuzzy" headed feeling is quite common for the first 3-5 days. Usually it's a combination of carb withdrawal and your body getting used to burning a new fuel source (fat!). Some have reported having it a bit longer, but it usually clears up after the first week. If it doesn't, then there may be some other things going on such as not eating enough, not drinking enough water or a mineral deficiency such as low potassium or magnesium.

I am day three and haven't experienced any of this. Is that possible or am I doing something wrong?

I didn't either Rick. I wouldn't worry about it. I felt a bit tired the first couple days, but that was most likely due to cutting my coffee down. :)
