Splenda on Fitday
Good morning!
I am *trying* to navigate through Fitday...I'm finding it frustrating, but I going to stick with it and read the thread with all the tips and hopefully figure it out. I wanted to ask how do we enter "Splenda" into Fitday? Would it go under the SweetnLow because it isn't asparatame or what? Also, how do I post a link to my fitday so I can ask you all what the heck I'm doing wrong with my diet? Thanks very much! Lily |
You must use the customization feature.
Take the nutritional info off box and enter it. Splenda powder has about .7 carbs per serving even though it says "0" on package. |
In the US, manufacturers are permitted to label a product as zero carbs if it has less than 1g per serving. US manufacturers are also permitted to label a product as zero calories if it has less than 5 cal. per serving.
re - Splenda .. the real counts for 1 packet, equivalent to 2 tsp sweetness: 4 calories 0g prot 0g fat 1g carb (actually it's 0.988 :)) for the granular bulk product, per 1 tsp serving 2 calories 0g prot 0g fat 0.5g carb or ... for the granular bulk product, per CUP 96 calories 0g prot 0g fat 24g carbs hth, Doreen |
Thanks!
OH! That's great! Thanks very much!

Type in Sweet N'Low. It has a catagory for all artificial sweetners, and counts the carbs used as filler in them.

Splenda is .9 gm per packet. I too was very curious to see just how much was in them so I wrote to the company and they wrote me back...here's a copy of their response. Hope it helps you.

Leenie, what a great response the company wrote to you. Before starting Atkins I drank SO much diet pop and used artificial sweeteners or white sugar (the horror!)!
Thanks for all the replies! Lily |
