Female problems :-(

Hi all,
I'm pretty new here, and am not sure where (or even IF!) to place this post.. I feel a little shy

I have been following Atkins for a little over a month, and decided to get off The Pill as possibly the estrogen would hinder my weight loss attempts. I went back on it in the Spring, and have subsequently gained 25 pounds.
I stopped about 7 days ago, and started spotting. I haven't changed a thing in my diet, and in fact I am really limiting my carbs (no slips). I was in ketosis, but have been out of it for about 5 days now. I am also ravenous! I ate 2 steaks for dinner last night

Should I continue to eat this way? Consume a lot of fat? My weight seems to be fluctuating upwards, and I'm afraid of undoing the good I've done.

Any advice would be really appreciated!!!

Linda

Hello Aria. don't worry about things for at least the first month. Going on LC changes the insulin in your body and since insulin is a master hormone, all the others are affected too. It is not unusual to skip a period, have an early one, or have spotting or breakthrough bleeding if on a low-E BP. So give it another cycle to adjust. The apparent gain could just be water retention from PMS. This too will change.

The hunger isn't a bad thing. (If you were forbidden to eat it would be awful.) I often find that I am starving the day before I lose some weight, so go ahead and eat until you are satisfied.

I think that you will soon see a change in the scales, or in the measurements of your body that I hope you took. Have you got a piece of clothing that was too tight? try it on in a few days and you may be pleasantly surprised.
