Hopin' to lose a lot by Halloween (Oct 31)
 
Some of us groupies from the Labor Day Challenge are looking ahead to the next American "eating" Holiday which at least for me would be Halloween. Let's weigh in between now and Sept. 1 and set a personal goal of weight to lose in the next 2 months. Then every Friday until October 31 we'll check in with our weight losses or gains. The Labor Day group has lost almost 80 pounds!! so I think we will be a motivated group. Come and join us!!

Hello fishie,

as promised, here I am!

I'd like to lose 6 kg (13 lbs) by October 31 (I know my minigoals says 10 kg (22 lbs), but they're the stars I aim for...), which hopefully is more realistic than my Labour Day challenge goal.

Today's weight: 81 kg (178 lbs)

I'm ready for this challenge. Starting weight today (Sept 1) is 205. I hope to lose 15 pounds by Oct. 31. This may be a too optimistic since my weight loss has slowed down but I'm going to try. Let's weigh in on Fridays and keep track together.

Hi all, I would love to join too! I have a goal of 10 pounds by October 1st. So, 15 pounds by October 31st would be WONDERFUL!!! That would put me 6 pounds from my final goal weight. Woohoo!

hi all.another labor day person here. bring on halloween. im ready. with the labor day challenge, my goal was 15lbs, i lost 11.5. so my goal will still be 15 by halloween.

My weight loss definitely slowed down this summer...but...I have faith and a renewed determination to do better. My goal is to get under that ugly 200 mark!!! So, I need to lose 17 lbs by Halloween. I wish everyone the very best success in the coming weeks. See you all on Friday.

I am in!!! Halloween is my Birthday!!! I want to be 20 lbs lighter by then!!!

Today 250 lbs on my birthday (Halloween) 230 lbs!!!!

I'd like to join the challenge! I want to lose 25 lbs by Halloween. So far I've lost 17 pounds since July and have hit a plateau the last two weeks. I heard having a carb day will break that so Saturday I had pancakes for breakfast and pasta for lunch (felt crappy and tired after both meals!) and I've been doing Induction since. AND I haven't stepped on the scale since Monday (still 213) so I'll weigh in on Friday! Woo Hoo!

Let's motivate each other to exercise - I really need help with that one! I use the gym at my office (elliptical trainer, weights and treadmill) but i've been finding myself working thru lunch alot lately and not working out after since I have to run to daycare to get the munchkin. :cry:

How are we going to avoid all the Halloween candy?????

Welcome coho7, glad you joined us. My feeling is if we lose a bunch of weight by Halloween we will be so motivated that we won't want to indulge in the Halloween candy. (I also make those freezer peanut butter cups and enjoy a carbolite chocolate bar on weekends so I'm not without my sweets.) Two more days until weigh-in. I hope you do well.

Hey fishie, what are frozen peanut butter cups? Or do I want to know? Most of the LC sweets gag me, especially the Atkins stuff. It tastes too chemically. But I can gobble up a whole mess of those LC Russel Stovers chocolates. Ok, putting piece of gum in my mouth now so I won't think about chocolate!! :nono:

coho, i excersice monday teusday, wednesday i take off. back in action on thursday friday and saturday. if you want to compare our work outs, to maybe get you going, i will do that with you.
the peanut butter cups are in the recipe section. they are good.

I found the peanut butter cup recipe on a dessert thread. They are called Fern's peanut butter cups but I've never found Fern on the forum. If you also count calories, they are high - 239 each, but only 4 carbs. To make them, melt 1 square of unsweetened chocolate, 1 stick of butter & 1/3 cup splenda in the microwave. Add 1 tbsp of heavy cream and 4 tbsp of natural peanut butter. Poor into muffin pans. (this makes 6). Freeze until hard. I treat myself to one when I crave something sweet. This isn't an induction snack, but I keep my calories to 1500-1900 and carbs under 30. I find it hard to eat just one, but I'm not a very fussy person when it comes to food, which is obvious given my weight. If you try them let me know what you think.

Dawn- thanks for the support! Today I was on the elliptical machine for 40 minutes. Tomorrow I'll do the ellipitical and weights. Gotta work on the ol' stomach! I had a c-section two years ago so my abs are shot. I hate situps, but I just have to suck it up and start doing them.

Fishie- those cups sound super yummy! Hubby's birthday is next Saturday so maybe I'll make those for him - he's doing Atkins, too, so there won't be a cake this year.

Weigh in tomorrow!! Sending out skinny vibes to all!
