Stevia

can anyone give me ideas on how to dilute Stevia . It has a very strong taste , bordering on the liquorish .

I bought a supply but dont want to overdo it . Is it better to use it with another AS?

Thanks

That's a great site Bonnie, thanks

Rob .. I use a liquid form of stevia which comes with a little dropper. Definitely a little goes a long way, and best to measure out a drop at a time; it can cross the line from sweet to bitter very quickly.

Like the artificial sweeteners, I find that mixing stevia in a recipe with another sweetener, for example Splenda or in the UK you can find saccharine ... allows you to use much less of each one to achieve a sweet taste. Unfortunately, there's no guideline of x drops or teaspoons = y amount of sugar-sweetness. You literally have to taste as you go.

Another thing, I find that the sweet sensation of stevia seems to "intensify" with cooking, so best to err on the side of less-sweet.
