American Cheese?
Are we allowed to eat this on induction, I was just reading the "allowed" foods for induction and it was not listed as a cheese to eat, oops...I have been having a slice in my eggs every morning? Please help!

I ate american cheese on Induction without problems. Just make sure to include it in your daily carb count. American, cheddar, provolone, etc are OK but limit it to 3-4 oz per day. Cottage cheese, farmer's cheese, and fresh cheese have a much higher carb count & therefore can't be eaten during Induction. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Deli natural american cheese should be ok (doesn't cause me problems) but those pre-packed cheeses (individuals) knock me out - they also have more carbs.

Processed American cheese slices usually have 1-2 grams of carb per slice, so go easy on them and count the carbs.
I use American cheese on my scrambled eggs maybe once a week just because it melts better than regular cheddar. |
REAL American cheese has the same carb count as cheddar. Processed American cheese food or other derivative "cheeses" are much higher in carbs. Check your package if you're not sure.
