My first naughty dream

No, not that kind of dream!

Yesterday was my first day back on Induction after losing my way a little in the carb wilderness. So I'm wondering if it was a coincidence that I had a very strange dream that involved chocolate macadamia nut brownies (sorry!).

I felt no particular guilt as I mixed up a second batch, having eaten all of the first lot!

And I'm not at all sure of the significance of the fact that my shoes were also made of choc macadamia brownie mix. At least I didn't eat my shoes. :p

The odd thing is that I've seen other folk post that they have these "naughty" dreams, but I don't usually dream of food at all. In my over 2 years as a low carber I don't ever recall dreaming of the forbidden in this way. Odd.

Rosebud -

Probably not a coincidence at all, it makes total sense, if you had just gotten back on the wagon! You have probably had other dreams about the diet too, but we remember very few of our dreams. (Some more that others.)

I have had dreams about falling off the diet and pigging out on carby food, have even awakened so upset I was crying, only to be amazed and relieved that it was just a dream.

But I tend to remember a lot of my dreams, lots of people don't. It stands to reason that when something is as big a part of one's life as LCing becomes, you WILL dream about it. Don't you agree?

By the way, if it had been MY dream, I probably would have eaten the shoes.

Nice dream, Roz!

That reminds me of one of the only *lucid* dreams I ever remember having. I was looking in the fridge, and found a can of frosting. Since I knew I was dreaming, I went ahead and ate it!

My coffee and scrambled eggs seemed very blah that morning. :-/

When I first started LC-ing I would have really vivid dreams that I lost control and chated and would wake up thinking it was true. It wasn't..whew.

I've had a couple of the "eating the sweet stuff" dreams since I've started LC'ing. Even if I don't have any major conscious cravings, it's amazing how the subconcious has not forgotten the sweets!

Rosebud...

No dreaming here. I just wanted to tell you that I too started back on induction (today) and love the way you put it ...loosing your way in the carb wildernes!

All the very best of luck and success to you.

That's a riot! My only "using" dream involved brownies too.

I was in a commercial kitchen and a brownie had fallen off the counter and was lying in between the stove and counter. There was about an inch of black grease, the corpses of French fries and chunks of mystery stuff that the brownie was lying on. I was going to pick it up and eat it - ewwwww - but thankfully I woke up.

I was spooked!

and i thought i was the only one whos had a funny dream,

mine was being invited around to a dinner party at a friends house,
i remember being asked if the menu was o.k. for my diet,
it was perfect, just what an atkins dieter would love for dinner,

but they forgot to warn me about the dessert. APPLE TURNOVER.
I hadnt noticed and just dived in, then my mouth told my brain
something was not right:nono: the crisp crunch as i bit throught the crust
the too sweet flavour of sweetened apple..:stop:
i woke up in a sweat..

never thought i would have nightmares about FOOD.

My first LC "naughty dream" was my first successful attempt at induction. For some strange reason, hubby brought me a big, chocolate birthday cake and suggested that I eat some. Well, I didn't think twice; it was the most natural thing in the world, until I realized it was CAKE! ;)

I awoke with a start, like I was having some kind of nightmare, and slightly annoyed at my peacefully sleeping hubby for sabotaging my diet. LOL The irritation at DH dissolved in seconds, but the weird feeling stayed with me ALLL day!

I, too, have had the "food dreams" and awakend in horror at having cheated :). They started when I began low carbing (over 2 years ago) but luckily, didn't last long at all.

And I agree - I would've eaten the shoes too ! As I recall, in my dreams I ate everything - even things I hadn't had in my house for years ;)!

:Puke:

PURE FROSTING?!!!!!! :D

You're SICK girl.

As for weird dreams...
I've never been a sweet-tooth (I was endulging in beer, garlic bread, popcorn and such), but after a couple of weeks LC:ing I all of a sudden had this orgasmic dream of layered Swedish "Princess" whipped-cream-marzipan-jam-sponge-cake...

I had a whole (1ft in diameter!) one in front of me, and I cut it in half (thinking I should have the other one in the next bite...) and lifted this huuuuge piece up to endulge.. and then woke up - wondering what the HECK my brain was on (ketones?) all of a sudden...

*LOL* Gil, I used to do this when i was a teenager. My mom would bake a cake every now and then, and there'd always be frosting left over. She'd leave it in the fridge, even though she had no intention of making another cake. So I would grab a spoon and polish it off...

I'm pretty sure I remember deliberately buying cake frosting as an adult, too... no cake.

Yup, I was a hard core sugar junkie... (So listen, folks: if I can give up the white stuff, anyone can! Don't give up! It doesn't even phaze me anymore!)

Never had a food dream in my life! Am I deprived or what?

Kristine....
I was the same way with frosting...In High School a friend and I would pitch in to buy a can of chocolate frosting, two plastic spoons, and we would go to town!!!

I also have had nightmares about pigging out, and would wake up bummed out, until was realized it was only a dream, and I sure felt relieved!!
