Net Carb Question

Can someone explain to me if net carbs are bad or good? I have seen candy on the market that has alot of sugar alcohol in it so it has lower carbs. Should you only eat things with natural low carbs?

I think fiber deductions are legitimate, but am trying to kick the legal treat habit so I'm not allowing myself to deduct sugar alcohols at this point.

For people who have no problem losing while eating them, they are deductible though. Some Atkins products use sugar alcohols and they list the net carbs using the deductions.

I would say it depends on what you're eating. I use net carbs for whole foods, such as veggies etc. BUT when I have a LC candy or something, I treat it as a cheat and keep in mind that there are probably 20 or so carbs in it.
