calorie question, any ideas?

ok. I usually don't count calories...but I tried that fit day and put in what I have eaten so far and what I plan to eat. and it came to only 782 calories.!.

do you think this is not enough? should I be trying to eat more calories or not worry about it?

today I had a atkins shake for breakfast(I just can't eat in mornings)
for lunch I had sphagetti squash with ground beef and splash of tomato sauce and parmesian cheese.
for a snack I am planning on some strips of bacon
for dinner a egg salad sandwich on celery.

this is feeling to me...but I saw those calories and thought I might no be eating enough? I haven't really been losing tons of weight either. i lost the ten. gained 5 back( which I attributed to the excersice I have started) allmost back down to 10 again. though my body is losing inches still...i haven't measured but I can tell.

anyway just wondering what you all thought. I couldn't believe 782 calories...it killed me..

What kind of calories do you guys find yourself eating?

CindyG Tue, Feb-10-04 19:15

IMHO that is not nearly enough calories for the day.

Jude was nice enough to send me this link to check how many calories you need in a day.

That may help you determine what the right number is.

Good Luck!

I eat between 1500-1600 a day, and did the same throughout induction and OWL.

Hey thanks for the link. I looked it up and it says I should be eating 1400 at least...I guess I will try and up and see if it helps ( I guess it can't hurt)

CindyG, thanks for the website. Ive always known my BMR but never my AMR. The website was very informative. So my BMR is 1417 and my AMR is 1842. So i should keep my calorie intake between these two numbers and i should still continue to lose weight. right. I am at 144 and i want to get to 135. So i have 9-10 pds to lose. My weight has been flunctuating between 143-147. I weight daily i know thats a no no. :nono: . How many calories a day do you think i should eat a day. I know the last 10 is the hardest so what amount do you think i should eat to help me get these last 10 off. I am eating anywhere between 15-25 carbs a day.

IF anyone has any possible answers or advice it would be deeply appreciated. :agree:

thanks :)

No, the world ISN'T fat because of counting calories. The world is fat because people aren't taught a damn thing about nutrition or health...
To ndhulst, a great way to get extra calories AND nutrition is Flax oil. It contains all the essential fatty acids and a significant amount of calories in a tablespoon. Has a kinda nice nutty flavor, too.

You mentioned Flax (but I mean the fiber, not the oil) does the body even process fiber calories?
