Smilies deleting my text!!

I've been having problems inserting smilies. On numerous occasions, when I insert one, it deletes all or part of the post I have just typed up. This morning I spent quite a while typing a longish post, and inserted a smiley at the end, which wiped out my entire post. Any idea how to prevent this, or how to get my text back when it happens?

Pam, not sure about why it's happening but next time it does try typing Ctrl+z ( aka Undo) it will sometimes work for me when I've accidentally wiped something out.

Ctrl+Z is a Windows shortcut ... not sure if it works on a Mac (but it might :)).

Also, if you hold the Ctrl key and press the Z repeatedly, it will "undo" all the way back to the last point in your post where you hit the Enter key, which is handy.

Next time it happens, I'll give Ctrl+Z a try.

Thanks!

Hi folks,

In addition to the above suggestions, here's a tip if you are using Netscape. There is a known problem with it, and if you download the latest version, 7.0, the problem should go away.

It doesn't actaully delete the message, it just hides the text. If you click preview button under the text area of your message, it should redisplay what was there. But it is better to upgrade to avoid the confusion.
