Carbs in beef???????

Well...I just went to the McDonalds site and subracted ALL items from a double cheeseburger, even the cheese and grill seasoning. IT STILL GAVE ME A 1G CARB COUNT! This is just for the meat patty....which reads "100% pure beef, no fillers, no additives...." Beef can contain carbs?

Wonder what part of the cow that "beef" came from?

Not to be gross, I love McD's as much as the next gal. But I have heard that they use questionable cow parts to make the patties sticky enough to stay together. Of course, I'm sure most places do something like that if you look into it...

It's probably just a quirk in their "nutrition facts" calculator.

I buy Presidents Choice Burgers. There are a lot of different flovours, and there are the NoName brand as well. There are 2 only, that have 0 carbs on the nutitrion panel. Some of them have as much as 11 g of carbs per patty. The plain jane Presidents Choice - 0 g, the noname brand patties - 8g, if I remember correctly. Now that's filler.

I think from memory even fresh meat from the butchers has some carb count in it, although it is minimal... maybe check out the carb table in the 'low carb tools' section of this site...

Katt :)
