CAD/CALP vs Atkins in loss

I am thinking about a switch from Atkins to CALP. However, I am concerned. I don't really have any major problems with Atkins except that my weight loss is very slow. I have gained and lost the same 3 pounds for a month now!

When I stall like this I found that adding a reward meal gets me losing again. However, I have never repeated the reward meal unless stalled again. So here is my question.

The thought of eating a reward meal everyday feels too good to be true. I can't believe this could work. Can someone ease into it, adding a reward meal maybe every other day?

Also, is it possible that on Atkins I would loose slower than on CAD/CALP? Has anyone seen someone loose better on CAD/CALP. I am not refering to someone who can't follow Atkins, but someone who CAN follow it, but finds weight loss improves on CAD/CALP.

Thanks

Well, I know everybody is different but I think your results on Atkins are not typical of the average weight loss. The vast majority of people who stick to Atkins lose weight faster than those on CAD/CALP....at least that is what I have seen, and I have been lurking around on LC boards now for almost a year. I myself lost 10 pounds my first week on induction. It just sounds like Atkins didnt work for you.

I quit Atkins because it was waaaay to restrictive for me to maintain. I never got past induction! Even though I lost weight quickly, I was miserable and felt sick all of the time. I would rather lose weight slower and and keep it at a steady pace than lose quickly and gain it all back later because I cant stick to the program for life. You know what I mean? Sorry if I'm not much help, but its been my observation that weight loss does tend to be slower on CAD than on Atkins for the MAJORITY of people. You never know though, CAD might work better for you. It really depends on the individual. And hey, if Atkins isnt working for you, then I would say switch to CAD/CALP or some other low carb program. What have you got to lose?
