Sausages
I know in the books/videos, Dr atkins raves on about how you can eat sausages.
But.. In the UK sausages are made with breads in them, as opposed to the US where sausages have a higher meat percentage. Has anyone found any atkins friendly sausages? |
Yes indeed, but they don't come cheap :(
My current favourites are Tescos finest pork sausages with herbs. 1.9g carb per sausage, but a wopping £1.99 for six, I'm afraid :) Have a look at the "UK shopping" thread which is stickied above - IIRC, that gives some examples of sausages with even less carb. |
Hi There!
You can also try Tesco Finest Hungarian style pork sausages with paprika. These beauties are even more expensive, 2.29 for 4, but they are really tasty and only have a trace of carb in them. |
Sausages
There have been several threads about this here previously. Here are links to some of them.

thanks everyone for the help..
I went with the hungarian sausages and they were beauitful! |
Have you tried your local Butcher?
Mine makes his own sausages, and has no added ingredients :) |
I'll give my mum's butcher a try, he's a member of the Q Guild and makes a lot of things himself. Failing that I have also discovered, M&S Aberdeen Angus beef with caramelised onion and red wine sausages at 0.2 carbs each. :yum:

Morrisons safeway and sainsburys have a great range a little pricey but well worth it!!

For me, the irony is that, before I started low carbing I didn't eat sausages :D But now I find myself keeping my eyes open for low carb ones
