This sounds really yummy, and I love chili! Do you have the carb count for one serving?
Thanks |

Chili very easy to make.Truly a comfort food. enjoy!Fred |
ftk627,
Your lc chili recipe sounds fantastic. Even better than the one in the PP book which didn't sound too bad. When it gets a little colder I will have to fix both of them. Always on the look out for new recipes!! Maren Stoy |
I have dinner tonight now. Thanks!

Oh this sounds delicious .A fantastic pig-free meet dish will try definitely. As I got all the herbs in my garden.

I made this last night. It was excellent

Question: Assuming one leaves out the beans ... what is inherently high carb in chile? In my opinion? Nothing. Chile - minus beans - is, by nature low carb. Just as stew - minus potatoes - is, by nature low carb. Or lasagna - minus the pasta; use eggplant or zucchini - is, by nature low carb. Learn to see where good substitutions are, and cooking becomes infinitely easier

Aren't the tomato sauce and canned tomatoes pretty high in carbs and sugar?
|
Whited,
The plain canned tomato sauce usually does not have added sugar, but about 5g of carbs, 2-3 of that fiber, per serve. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/vegetables A fresh tomato has a very high satiety score of 92..a nutrient dense, low calorie vegetable. https://www.hava.co/satiety/vegetables Either way you look at canned or fresh tomatoes...SPC or Low Carb, they make great additions to a healthy, calorie reduced approach (unless you use high fat ground beef..I account for both carbs and fats). Before using a recipe, put the exact ingredients you will be using into a tracker, to see if it fits your plan. Dennis…where have you been these past two years? ;) how is your BG? My LC approach has changed, to the point my bio notes that answers before 2021 may no longer be valid. I use a Satiety Per Calorie approach now…lots of information about it in my Success Story, and Journal if you are interested. Weight loss and Maintenance has been easy. Happy to help you  |
