Is it supposed to cost this much?

Hello! :) I live in Toronto, Ontario. I got some gluten flour from a health food store today (80% protein) and it cost me $4.00 for 400g - a pretty small bag for the money compared to ordinary wheat flour. Since I've never purchased gluten flour before, I was wondering if it's supposed to cost this much? Please let me know? I could really use some help.

I get it at Bulk Barn. I haven't bought any for a while but I don't think it's that expensive.

It depends on where you buy it, but it is a lot more expensive than flour. LC baking is quite costly: whey protein, ground nuts and sweeteners do add up. Another reason to only indulge on rare occasions.

Health food stores

are generally more expensive. Deirdre is right. The Bulk Barn is the least expensive place I have found.

They also have ground almonds at Bulk Barn, that's what I use for Almond "flour".
