Hi Guys!

Did anybody hear about this new product by Pepsi..

Its seems it has 1/2 the sugar and carbs of regular soda..........

Just another bigwig to jump on the Low Carb bandwagon.... We need some regulation for what should b called LOW CARB!

I am just concerned of how many more will use the Low Carb tag to entice the general population.

Where I live, the farmers are going on about a new LOW CARB POTATO. It naturally has 15% (wow) less carbs than a regular potato, so it HAS to be a low carb potato. Grrr

I'm confused, why wouldn't people just drink diet pepsi? There's no carbs in it????

Hmm. Could it be another version of diet pepsi but with Splenda? That would be worth buying IMO.

Hopefully it has splenda, I would buy it for sure. But I bet they wouldn't have it in Canada...:-(

Diet pepsi has aspertame and some people dont' like to consume that.

Diet Rite uses splenda and has no carbs. The fact that this still has carbs means they think people are idiots considering you can drink all the diet soda you want and still get no carbs, or negligable carbs. Diet Rite tastes great.

in the UK we already have Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max. They are both exctly the same (at least to my taste and looking at the ingredients list).

I e-mailed Pepsi a couple of days ago to ask what the difference is, but didn't get a reply yet. I take it Pepsi Edge will be the same ? Or will it just be a reduced sugar variety. That, I would actually wellcome. I don't want my daughter to have too much AS (of any kind), so a reduced sugar cola would be great.

I also like the diet rite, DEM...They have a few different flavors and though I try to not drink too much diet soda, it sure tastes good when I do...I was one of those people who use to be addicted to regular pepsi (and love pepsi vanilla)..I'm reformed now and stick with the diet ones...lol I think the splenda in the diet rite soda tastes a lot better than the ones with nutrasweet...

I agree and if it's made with splenda it willnot hae carbs at all - liquid splenda is carb free. WE'll see. Maybe it is a reduced sugar content. Interesting...

The thing I don't like about the Diet Rite is there isn't a lot of carbination (sp)--I need the bubbles! Does any one else notice that?

Pepsi and Coca-cola will both come out with splenda drinks. Soon they will be available everywhere. It's not a matter of them doing it... they need to, or they will literly go bankrupt. It's too big of a market now. Subway, Mcdonalds, A&W have all cashed in on it already, and the list goes on. I say give it 5 years and you'll be able to buy ANYTHING lowcarb, even stuff like Pizza Hut, ect. You'll be able to order low carb pizza ;) I already heard Dominoes pizza is working on coming out with a low carb version of their pizza.

These guys are nuts if they're putting Sucralose AND Corn Syrup in one beverage. If they are making regular Pepsi Edge (which would have corn syrup) and DIET Pepsi Edge (which would contain Sucralose), THEN they are on to something.

From a marketing standpoint:They may be on to something with trying to reach a niche of simultaneous regular & diet cola drinkers. These people who like to crossover are probably just balancing out the number of calories that they consume by endulging in the regular stuff and balancing it out with the diet. Mindset: I'd love to drink another soda, but I've already had two Pepsi's today. Well, I'll drink a Diet Pepsi since it has no calories. But, unless it has some revolutionary taste, then I doubt if people will really flock to it. I think that this product may have been in development long before the low-carb craze has kicked in full throttle.

From a personal standpoint, I like Diet Rite too much to stray when I finally reach goal.

They've been wrong before (ex. Pepsi Blue....nasty, nasty stuff!!)
