15 Reasons you are not losing on Low-Carb
There is a new low carb website, Authority Nutrition, doing a wonderful series of blog posts explaining in clear simple language many aspects of the diet, the research behind it, and tips to achieve optimal health. His latest is:
The 15 Top reasons you are not losing weight on a low carb diet. You have likely seen them all, but it is a good list in one short article. http://authoritynutrition.com/15-re...-low-carb-diet/ Two years ago Mark Sisson had a similar list on his website for Paleo/Primal dieters. 17 Reasons you are not losing weight. Some more tips to consider, no matter what low carb/Paleo/Primal plan you follow: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/17-r.../#axzz2MbsvHy7z |

Mark must have learned I posted his two year old article because he just sent me 9 More Reasons for not losing weight on Paleo. And since #5, spending too much time researching nutrition applies to me, I'll just add this new list and get off the forum now.

Well, I can attest to weight gain and NSAIDS. I've been having terrible back issues when I sleep, waking up each morning with a nasty backache. Taking an NSAID at bedtime and I could guarantee I'd wake up 2 pounds heavier in the morning.
The last few days I've stayed away from the naprosyn and the weight is starting to come off. |
Thanks for the articles Janet. I just restarted low carbing with Atkins Indution. Not sure I will stay with Atkins or just use it to get into just plain to a "Lifestyle" of low carbing. These lists of info are and will continue to be very helpful to me. The difference this time is my "commtimtment" to make it a "Lifestyle" NOT a diet because I want to lower diabetic #s as well the others. I did this about 3 yrs ago when I was first diagnosed and within 6 months had all my numbers down, but because I stupidly saw it as just a diet, I now finding myself having to do it again. But as I said, in order to get my #s back to healthy readings and keep my health, I realize that this has to be a "lifetime commitment" and not a diet.
