appetite = no ketosis?

Today I was as hungry as I used to be while on a low fat diet. I have not been this hungry since starting LC. Does this mean I am out of ketosis? Or maybe it was my one hour walk. So I ate sauted chicken with green beans, 1/2 of a Ross bar and lots of water. Now I feel better.
I had forgotten what hunger feels like!

I've been low carbing for almost nine months and my hunger comes and goes. I don't know if it means I am out of ketosis -- I never check -- but it doesn't seem to follow any pattern I can figure out, although suddenly increasing my exercise does usually lead to greater hunger. Yesterday, I was simply starving all day, and had to go out in the middle of the afternoon (I was at work) and buy a package of nuts so I could make it through until dinner. On a normal day, I don't get hungry between lunch and dinner. Today, I am hardly hungry at all, even though I took an hour long walk this afternoon. However, that is a normal walk for me, so my body is used to it.

I just went through a whole week of non stop hunger, no matter what I ate-I couldn't get rid of that feeling and I drink alot of water. I read in the book that if you feel this way, you're out of ketosis so I panicked. however, I lost 4.5 lbs this week so I don't think that is the case. Not sure what caused it but its better the last couple of days. Maybe you need to eat more with the exercising-thats what was suggested on here to me-to up my calories some.

According to Laura Richard in her book "The Secret To Low Carb Success" A whoosh is often preceded by a period of increased hunger and strong carbohydrate cravings. Sounds good to me!
