Is cardio necessary for weight loss?

I exercise every day but I MUCH prefer the sculpting types of workouts over cardio. I'm doing cardio 3-4 times a week but I'd cut it out if I can still lose weight without it. I do some sort of video in the mornings Monday-Saturday (TaeBo, the FIRM...cardiosculpt, bodysculpt, abs...Kathy Smith, etc.), and I do Pilates every night. Do you think I could just focus mainly on toning and leave out the cardio or do I really need it for weight loss? I haven't been losing anything lately anyway so I'm wondering what difference it makes.

I am also wondering if it will make a difference. I've been doing light weights since January. I recently started BFL and now am doing 20 MAS cardio 3 times a week. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if there is a difference when the 12 weeks are up.

I'm thinking about looking into Body Rx when I'm done with these 12 weeks though...I heard it doesn't use any cardio.

Body RX

Hey Beth, I was just going to suggest BodyRX. I did that for a few weeks when I was just starting out on weight training. It was good but I ended up missing cardio. Here's a link to the site.

IMHO the 20 - 30 mins high intensity is great. and I include it in my workout routine after weights 4 times per week.
