Help! I messed up!!

Someone please tell me I have not totally thrown myself out of ketosis..... Okay today is my 15th day on Atkins I have lost 13 pounds so far and have been firmly sticking to my 20 grams of carbs a day, until last night. I went to a birthday dinner for a friend and had it in my head I was going to eat a steak and salad and water. WRONG! My friend made me (peer pressure ya know) taste her amaretto sour drink and that was it for me I ended up ordering 4 of them, by that point I just didn't care so I also ordered a baked potato with sour cream and ate half a roll. Will this throw me off track? Also just out of curiousity, does anyone know how much carbs one of those drinks have? I have every intention of going right back to my 20 grams today and not to do that again!

Get back on the horse

As the saying goes.....

I went overboard this weekend myself. I found that it didn't affect me much. I am still in ketosis and I think I am still at my same weight. I've been reading in the forum that for some people it helps them lose weight, for others they gain, and for others nothing happens. Just be careful next time and plan ahead. Maybe eat ahead of time, so that you don't feel so tempted to cheat.

hope this helps

Like the others said-DON'T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF.
I am coming off a 2 week binge after being on Atkins for 2.5 months and am going to have to start over again on Induction to get back on track but I am ready to do it-I have felt yucky for 2 wks now and am ready to get back on track.
You will do fine-This forum is so encouraging and helpful that it is a godsend if you get off a little bit(or ALOT like I did) LOL!!

Good Luck and keep up the great work!!!!!!

oops!

In the future, keep in mind that Amaretto is nearly a sugar syrup. Combine that and the inhibition-lowering effects of alcohol, a little "cheap date" syndrome... common in low-carbers who find they get a LOT more effect than they bargain for from alcohol, and you're setting yourself up for a binge.

Now that you learned that the hard way, don't kick yourself. Just jump back on the wagon, and try to avoid the situation again.
