Starting Over, Confessions of a Sugar Addict
My name is amieK and as of today, I am a recovering sugar addict.
Over the duration of my college course last fall and the holidays I fell off the wagon and allowed myself just a little taste of chocolate. Yeah right! We all know where that leads to. In this case an extra 9 lbs. Anyway this past weekend was a real low. I ended up eating 4 candy canes, (2 regular size and 2 mini), along with 2 squares of semisweet baking chocolate to get that chocolate mint flavour. YUCK!! Woke up the next day with a horrible sugar hangover. Yesterday was a slight improvement but I got into some chocolate chips leftover from some baking my daughter did for school. Well today is a brand new day. I'm going to eat healthy and LC today. I am on Week 2 of my new strength training program and that is going well. Time to get my eating habits back on track. Thanks for listening. I've been away for awhile. |
hang in there!
Good job putting it away and starting over...Now........if I could just get the brownies out of my kitchen without sneaking a bite. I did that last night and found out I'd had 6 carbs. Ugh!

A good way to 'get back into the spirit' for yourself is reading up to the Atkins Induction Chapter again. It will remind you of why you're following this WOE.

Thanks for your encouragement aztovaalex.
Karen, thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to grab my copy of DANDR off the shelf and review. I do feel so much better when I follow this WOE. I need to keep the reasons for it foremost in my mind. Succumbing to temptation just isn't worth it. I feel so gross afterwards. |
