....not ENOUGH calories

I just went through everything I ate today and entered it at fitday. I had 716 calories and 8 carbs. I'm full though. I think maybe the water fills me up then I'm not hungry. Any suggestions? I know I should be having more.

I had a piece of quiche(no crust) for breakfast, and about a cup of roast pork for supper. I also had some pork rinds around lunch time, which I kind of had to force down because I wasn't hungry. I had 3-8oz glasses of water before lunch and have had 2 more since. I usually save the last one for when everybody else is having a snack later.....think I got everything.

Wow!

Glad your full - i suspect you ought to at least get your calories up to 1,000 - you don't want your body to think it's starving.

Where are your vegies? Perhaps with your vegies you could use oil & vingear dressing - that would boost your calories.

Plus, you could eat 1 -2 oz. of cheese - that would also up your calories.

hope this helps - also- check out the journals to get a feel for what and how people eat around here!

Girl you need some veggies in that body of yours! You should be getting the majority of your carbs from your veggies. :)

You really should up your calories also so your body doesn't think you are starving it. Then it will hold onto every ounce for dear life. Do you like cream cheese? Thats a great thing to have with celery, or you can try bacon, string cheese, beef jerky, cold cuts... Are you drinking all the water with your meals? You might want to try not drinking it around when you are eating if you think that is what is causing you to feel full. Why don't you give us a couple more menus of what you eat so we can maybe give you some other ideas. Also are you a person who is on the go and needs convient snacks or like to make your meals? Let us know and I'm sure a lot of folks will have some great ideas for you.

oops....forgot there was chese on the quiche(I already included the veggies) now my total is 874 with 10 carbs. Maybe I'll have more pork rinds later...I'm starting to really dislike them...lol...

I agree, you definitely need more veggies! If you don't care for salads, try some cooked spinach/cabbage/eggplant/broccoli/cauliflower/asparagus for dinner, 1 to 2 cups would be plenty, and add some butter or oil to it. That will give you more calories and carbs. (but GOOD carbs) If you hate cooked veggies, try some raw veggies with a full fat sour cream dip. Yummmm. :)

I would up your veggies then... so you can get your carb count up to around 20 and also so you can get some calories. Do you like veggies, cooked, raw? There are tons of things you can do to get calories and carbs in your plan, just make sure you are consuming GOOD carbs not crap carbs. Like I said the majority of your carbs should be coming from your veggies. Let me know if there is something else I can try to help you with.

As the others have said, you need some vegies.

And one of the great things about vegies is they are a wonderful vehicle for adding fat - which is the best way to add calories.
You can slather cooked vegies with butter, or stir fry them in plenty of oil. I sometimes make a yummy cheese sauce by simmering cream until it has thickened, then add grated cheese.
And of course salads are much better with all the yummy dressings you can now have. Just oil and vinegar - 3 parts oil to 1 part vinegar - or mayo, Caesar or ranch dressings. Just check the labels carefully for carbs. According to Dr A, dressings with 2 carbs or less per tablespoon are fine.

All the best!
