Milk?

how important is it to give up milk. I cant stand the taste of soya milk. And heavy cream with coffee is too rich...so I use skimmed milk. I only have around 3 -4 cups of coffee a day.
thanks

I just checked and Skim milk has 13 grams of carbs for a cup. If you are drinking 3-4 cups of coffee a day you are probably having nearly a cup. It takes more skim milk to change the colour of the coffee than it does for cream. I think it's a danger. I guess you could measure it. It all comes down to how you want to use your carbs.

Use the heavy cream-dilute it with water before you use pour it in coffee. You can acquire a taste for it.

If you do what you always did you will get what you always got.

I believe that skim is higher in carbs. There are milks on the market now that are low in carbs and rich in taste. Check those out before dismissing milk all together. One brand that comes to mind is Hood and is advertized on tv.

I'm wondering why you're using skim milk, which is the highest in carbs of all. Have you tried using half and half - it has 4.3 grams of carbs per 100 grams as opposed to skim milk, which has 5.5 grams.
