You know you're a LCer when...

...you send your parents an email telling them about your plans and write "DH and I are going away next weekend."
My mom called and asked what a DH is....woops!!! LOL

Also, the other day at work we reported on a local company called Computers Aided Design Systems & Service and it was written as "CAD Systems & Service." Naturally, I thought there was a Carb Addicts company in town.

Am I a nutcase, or have any of you made similar mistakes?

Talon Sat, Aug-10-02 14:15

Yep, I've done the same thing too. Usually with CAD and LC. I also have a tendency to critique menus when I go out, if it says "Healhty"... I will go into a long tirade (sorry DH) about how it is NOT healthy.

Another sign that you are a die hard LC'er - your friends either won't offer you high carb foods or they will and then immediately say "Oh, you don't eat that!" without you saying a word. :)

When I first started this WOE I read everything I could find on these boards, until I started dreaming about reading new posts, that's when I realized I was hooked!!!!

. . . when it takes 2 hours to get thru the grocery store . . . due to reading each & every "Nutrition Facts" label. :read2:

Ha ha ha!!!

Niksauntie, I've dreamt about reading new posts as well! I thought I was crazy, now I see I'm not! :D

DH = darling husband. Sometimes said for real, sometimes sarcastically  depending on what he's been up to lately.

You know you're and LCer when you catch yourself sipping flaxoil by the spoonful at night, cos your fat:protein:carb ratio and your daily calories ain't right.

But ditto e-mailing my mum and signing with my forum name and DH's! :)

Also glad I'm not the only one hooked onto this forum - what am I going to do when I go away for a fortnight. The withdrawal symptoms will be worse than induction!

You know you're a hard core LCer when you see "Brownie Sundae" on a restaurant menu and your first impulse is not to order it, but to go home make it yourself, only LC!

...When the grocery cashiers always ask you, "What are you going to do with all that CREAM?!?"

Lisa N Sun, Aug-11-02 14:08

.....One of your co-workers nearly jumps over the wall of your cubicle at you because he's following low fat and starving (but not losing weight) while you're sitting there munching a pork chop fried in butter and olive oil and dropping weight like crazy! :D

.....The cashier at the store looks at your weekly grocery purchases and comments, "Oh, you're on THAT diet."

....Your DH and half of your co-workers want to know how to low carb because they've seen how much weight you've lost and how much better you're looking (not to mention all the stuff you can eat and still lose weight).

tofi Sun, Aug-11-02 15:09

....when you get out of the grocery store in 5 minutes because you only go around the outside.
.....when you snarl at McDonald's commercials and drool over steakhouse ads.

DH = dear husband, darling husband, dratted husband, dumb husband, damned husband. It all depends on the circumstances and the context. :D

Sometimes the "D" in "DH" doesn't always stand for "Darling"!!!!!!

How do know your a true Low carber? when an 8 oz steak is considered a snack food! LOL

....and you only have 14 items in your cart but your bill is $85!!

....when you snitch a bite of bread, a french fry or spoonful of rice (just for old times sake) and make a face...'cause it doesn't taste NEARLY as good as you remember it!

....when you stop obsessing about what you weigh, trust your body (and LCing) and know that you'll lose the weight eventually.

....when you CONFIDENTLY clean out your closets of all those clothes that are too big!
