High School Wrestler - lets get some help :)

Well, normally I've never had any problems with my weight. I'm very active - a cross country runner in the fall, and long distance track runner in the spring. This season I wrestle, however I need to lose weight to get into the weight class under me.

My weight is 118, and has been before I started going LC. My body fat is in the 11% range. I need to be 112 or under to be in my desired weight class. Making weight from 118 is rather simple, I can lose up to 4 pounds in two days of practice, and dehydrate the rest to make weight. My only problem is that I would like to keep my weight around 112-114, and not have these great weight changes. (I've gone from 110 to 118 in a day.)

So I'd like to lose a few pounds, and keep it there. I decided on LC so I could have enough energy to make it through the wrestling practices, but I find that it is just very hard to LC at my school. (I go to a boarding school, so I eat three meals a day in the dining hall, to top it off I really can't tell which is meat and which is carb-loaded sometimes.)

So if you've made it this far, thanks, I have a tendency to ramble. I just would like suggestions - like how many carbs should I be getting a day? And is a LC the best diet for me anyhow? I'm not one that pigs out on junk food, in fact, I'd be happy eating rasin bran three meals a day.

So please, help a poor soul out! I've been trolling for about a week now, and I have yet to find any wrestling site / atkin's site that really gives some good information regarding my questions...I thought this would be my best bet..

I would check out the exercise forum here, Im sure that will be a help to U. I also know IF U are a high performance athelete may need extra carbs in the way of fruit and veggies. Someone else may be able to clarify that for U. As for meat...if U stick to beef chicken and pork they contain no carbs.
