Noticed a new product under Product Review; LC Luxury. Diet V8 Splash - comes in flavors: Tropical Blend, Strawberry Kiwi, and Berry Blend. This item is sweetened with Splenda and has a total of 3 carbs per 8oz. glass. My question is whether anyone has seen them being introduced into their local supermarkets yet? Would really like to try these.

Cool, I love V8 products, hopefully the diet ones are just as good. Will keep an eye on them.

we may have to wait a while

Hi all,

Yes, I've been noticing the ads in American magazines for a few months now. But as of yet, it's not available in Canadian stores. Darn. And the Campbell's-V8 website is no help either.

Presidents' Choice and Master Choice, as well as Ocean Spray (I think) make Splenda-versions of their fruit juice cocktails. They're still kinda high in carbs even so, about 8 to 10 per cup. BUT, if you mix 'em 1:1 with club soda or Perrier, they make great spritzers, for only half the carbs.

p.s.- I love V8 vegetabe juice, it's the ONLY one made without sugar or corn syrup added, at 8 carbs per cup. Here's a great wintery "soup" idea - make 1 cup of your favourite beef or chicken bouillon (try a natural foods store to find sugar-free). Heat 1 cup V8 in the microwave. Mix the two together, divide into 2 mugs, add a few dots of Tabasco and or worcestershire, a celery stalk and voila! Under 5 carbs each.

re: Where does weight go when you lose it ?

Doreen,

For those who lose weight primarily because of exercise, you lose weight from heat production, .... fats, sugars and carbohydrates are "burned" just like fuel in your car to produce energy. The by-products of this combustion are then expelled by respiration and perspiration. (Water and carbon dioxide)

However, the "bulk" of your weight loss, literally goes down the toilet!!

So "flush " out all that unwanted fat!!

Hmmm, everyone's a comedian

I guess I was just being philosophical. Good point about the "flush" thing, I must remember my ground flax seeds - a dandy substitute, for those of us allergic to psyllium. :D

Now, here's a point. I like to change my signature line every so often. And it will change throughout the database when I do. So months from now, someone may read this and wonder what on earth we are talking about.

have a great lowcarbin' Sunday
