Putting it ALL ON THE LINE

i've been an off and on gym junkie for a couple of years now, so i'm hoping that this will make it stick. i love lifting weights (my problem area is my arms) and save the cardio for enjoyable runs with my dog or tennis games.

i'm not entirely sure which plan i will be following - so if anyone has suggestions for what has worked well for them, i'm all ears.

yesterday, i went for an hour long run in the canyon with duke (my dog). it was raining, so we had the trails completely to ourselves and it was beautiful running along the river and up into the mountains and seeing the ferns and mosses and mist. it was the best i've felt in a long time...so running is going to become a daily thing for me, not so much as a form of exercise, but rather meditation. lifting weights is when i mentally focus on "working out"...but i haven't been doing much of that lately.

this morning i went to a yoga class with my mom. i LOVED it! and my body feels great! so i'm going to keep that up.

took duke for another long run (about 45 minutes) this morning...my knees are starting to feel it, which is frustrating... it was a hard workout and not a very enjoyable run; which makes me really pleased that i stuck it out.

Hi there! What kind of dog is Duke?

Do you have access to a gym for weight training, or do you workout at home?

i have a pretty complete gym at home, which is really nice and convenient...and duke is an incredibly frisky german shepheard, which isn't always so convenient, but throughly entertaining.

once i have this flu beat, i'm going to be working out a lot more. i'm so sick of not moving my body that i'm going out of my mind!

well - i've launched into a health regime - and i'm getting back into the body for life program. everything feels like its clicking into place...and i'll be posting my workout stats here. it feels good to be back.

i started bfl yesterday with an upper body workout. it felt great! pushing myself to 10s makes me feel so strong and empowered!
