New here..

Hi everyone

I have been LC since 6/15/02, on and off.
I am having such a hard time trying to take
these last 9 pounds off.
My husband is doing real good on it. (he loves all the foods)
Not me I don't eat eggs. (unless they are in cake :D )
My biggest problem is at night. I crave sweets or something
salty. I stay up late. If I could only go to sleep early.

Welcome to the board Ana!

The last few pounds can be the hardest to loose :(

I found that often times when I craved things at night time it was because I was "used" to having something then - I wasn't necessarily hungry. Is there anything particluar you have every day for dinner that might be trigger this?

Dont know if this will help or not, but I have found that having a bit of sugar free jello in the fridge helps with those sweet cravings for me with absolutely no carbs! I have never been a night eater, but since I started Atkins, for some reason i do get those cravings at night. Hope this helps a bit!?!?
Happy Holidays!

night cravings

Hi Talon,
Regardless of what I have for dinner, after 9:00PM, I always
crave sweets. But I think that you are right about "USED"to
having something then.
I have gotten in the habit of always snacking at night.
How can I break this BAD habit?

Thanks for your quick reply.

Re : Jello

Hi Lisa,
I make sugar free jello about 4 times a week. But that does not
curb my cravings for sweets. I sometimes can eat 3 or 4 servings
of Jello and whipped cream a night.
My husband tells everyone that I have more than ONE sweet tooth. :p

For me breaking the habit was the hardest part. The first night will be the hardest. You have to just tell yourself that you are really and truly NOT hungry - and do not go near the kitchen! Myt houghts when I tried this:

Will it kill or harm you NOT to have it? Nope
Will life as you know it cease to exist? Nope
Will I feel horrible if I give in? Yep
Will I feel wonderfully proud of myself tomorrow if I don't give in? Yep!

I know that I WILL do it this time. Thanks to you and
others great people trying to better their health.

I go to Jo-ann's Fabric store in Florence all the time.
And to BW3's with friends, when UK college basketball
team plays. (my hubby is nuts over UK)

I was looking at your profile...and my hubby works for Oracle
he is a Principal consultant for them. We live 12 miles east of
Coney Island.

Small world! I am not going anywhere near there today - the Mall is going to be crazy. I need to go to the Petsmart down that way - but I think I will hold off until Saturday or so. :)
