Low-carb menu at Blimpie's

Hi everyone-
On my way into work this morning I heard a radio advertisement for Blimpie's Subs and Salads (not sure if everyone is familiar with Blimpie's) which said that they have introduced a new low-carb sandwich menu :yay: ! They also apparently are selling Atkins potato chips now too. I may have to try it!!!! Thought I would just let everyone know.....

Roast beef and cheddar lists as 8g net carbs
Still a bit too carby for me but a great idea

Their salads are 5 for the buffalo chicken and 7 for the antipasto

I think its great that they are trying to attract low carbers but their Idea of the meals (sandwich, bag of crunchers and a drink) add up to over 10g of carbs a meal.

I guess for someone doing maintenance it would be great or in an emergency, but I think if I would go there I would still opt for the meats sans the bread.

Roast Beef & Cheddar is listed at only 6g...

This is great! I just called the Blimpie near me and they have these. I know what we're having tonight!

Every Friday my kids want either pizza or subs

Wow I am so glad I read this thread! Now I can have a quick alternative to cooking!!! Thanks for letting us know!! I will be at Blimpies today!

Even at 10 g carbs for one meal, this would be a decent option for OWL too. This is great for families like mine where half of us eat LC and half don't and you want something fast besides McDonalds!

Under New Sandwiches it says 8g Net carbs for 6" sandwich.

Either way still good.

"The new BLIMPIE Carb-Counter Menu has been introduced to BLIMPIE Subs & Salads
locations in Suffolk and Nassau counties on Long Island, NY. The menu will next
expand to New Jersey and Connecticut locations with full national implementation
by March 30, 2004."

I don't think it's so bad. I even think that if you're one of the people who plans to stay on induction longer than 2 weeks, this could be a once in a while splurge. I definitely wouldn't eat them all the time on induction, but if I'm going out with people from work for lunch, it's nice to know I have an option open to me.

Okay, I got all excited (a good sandwich? Low carb? Yahooo!!!) and even found out where the nearest Blimpies is planning to zip across the Bay one weekend to endulge. then I found out it won't be available until next March. By then....someone else may have decided to do it, even closer to me--and I'll NEVER get a Blimpies. Oh, well.

For us west coaster's, I went to my local Blimpie's today and they said we are next on the roll-out and we should see the new menu the first week in December!! Then I hung my head relegated to the fact that I was not going to get a sub after all, bought a water and left!
