inch gain during weight loss??

i've been watching my carb and general food intake for he past 4 months, and also (finally) getting a routine at the gym, exercising at least 3 times a week, but i'm noticing that my pants don't fit me!!! I don't weigh more according the the scale, but what's going on??!!

You could be losing body fat and gaining muscle instead... which would cause a bit of difference in your clothing, but not necessarily on the scale.

i thought of that, but it seemed too good to be true.
I haven't done any weight exercises for my butt and thighs, can cardio build muscle and burn fat?

I had the same problem at first - its your body building muscle in place of the fat PLUS but now I see losses slowly...lost a whole inch on my waist and 1.25 inches off my bust when I got measured recently....

I've lost 10 pounds in the past two weeks, and not an inch off my waist or hips. I've been drinking a lot of soda, so I think I'm just really bloated.

Sometimes I'll lose weight and no inches, or lose inches and no weight. I figure it'll even out in the end when I reach my size 12 goal.

I am glad that other people are experiencing this as well. I have lost about 13lbs, and haven't dropped a size. My clothing is fitting exactly the same - and i have become discouraged. My boyfriend is doing it too, and has lost 2 sizes/16 lbs. I think in the long run, i would rather have my clothing fit better than see the scale move... At first i was ecstatic about the lb. loss, but now i just feel down....
