DIet RC Cola (Canada)

Well, I found Diet RC Cola at Army & Navy store today in New Westminster, BC. That's the good news. The bad news is, it's made with aspartame and that Ace-K stuff, so there's no point. :(
Bah, humbug!!

I wonder if someone in the US could check the Diet RC Cola and see if yours is, in fact, made with Splenda?

I went to the grocery store this morning - couldn't find diet RC - just regular RC. Sorry.

I just bought a 12 pack of strawberry-kiwi and they say that they are made with splenda as does the raspberry and tangerine. I haven't tried the white grape but i would assume that it is as well.

Flavored Diet RC Cola ? I thought it would just be cola...

Talon Mon, Apr-28-03 04:30

Diet Rite does come in a cola, and also tangerine, red raspberry, white grape, strawberry kiwi - those are all I have seen so far.

Yes, I have found DietRite in Bellingham. I was referring to Diet RC Cola. Not sure if it's the same company? This one has caffeine, whereas DietRite does not.

IslandGirl Tue, Apr-29-03 12:35

Diet Rite and Diet RC are always getting confused for some reason (perhaps the company is linked somewhere) and has been for some years.

There are quite a few posts on the Diet RC vs. Diet Rite scattered throughout the Products Forum (and no takers on a bet that they're in all the other Forums as well).

When you have a moment, see what a SEARCH brings up...

I believe there's also a Product list of (yup) Splenda sweetened products, both at Splenda US www.splenda.com and Splenda Canada www.splenda.ca -- that might be quicker.

jeanyyy Tue, Apr-29-03 13:49

Grrr, the search engine doesn't like "RC".. too short.

jeanyyy Tue, Apr-29-03 13:55

Interesting, the Splenda US site lists Diet RC Cola under the Royal Crown Company (makes sense, eh?) but the Diet RC Cola that I saw on sale here was in a display of Cott beverages, on sale at 4 for $5 (or was it 5 for $4)... I wonder if Cott distributes RC here in Canada...

Cott's a licensed 'bottler' for RC products.

Fun.

Yeah, found the www.cott.com site myself. Unfortunately, their "Contact us" info is snail mail only.. I know myself well enough to know I'll never get around to doing *that*.. lol

Just seems weird that they would have one Diet RC Cola made with Splenda in the US and a different one made with aspartame/aceK here. Why on earth would they do that?

dustoweb Tue, Apr-29-03 18:35

I read a post about Diet RC cola being sweetened with splenda, but I've yet to find it at any stores around here. You can order it by the 6 pack from this website:

I've never ordered soda from the web, but I might give it a shot to atleast try it. Diet Rite is ok, but I miss the caffiene sometimes.

Talon Tue, Apr-29-03 20:28

The link you posted is for diet RITE not RC.

cc48510 Tue, Apr-29-03 21:09

Diet RC and Diet Rite are both made by Royal Crown. Royal Crown is a subsidiary of 7Up/Dr Pepper. 7Up/Dr Pepper is a subsidiary of Schweppes.

dustoweb Wed, Apr-30-03 10:53

Oops. They have both on that site. I guess I copied the wrong one. Here's the correct link:
