Hummm'in along

This isn't the first I've started to do anything in the cardio or resistance training line but just the first recording.

And it's a bit of a lame start since I just had surgery three days ago. But that's not a perfect excuse --- I was told "activities as tolerated" and "no lifting heavier than 5 pounds for 6 weeks"

So -- I tolerated a 15 minute walk today at a reasonable pace. It was colder than I thought -- I could see my breath but I was dressed appropriately.

I would think that if I do one arm at a time, I can lift my 5 lb weights, right?? :D

Maybe tomorrow I'll move into that -- still a bit sore today and not really wanting to tempt fate!

Today - 16 minutes quick walking around the house. Don't laugh!! Heart rate was a respectable 120 since I added stairs into the equation. Weather was too crappy and I felt too crappy to go outside.

Back to the walk around the lake - it's about 2 miles. It took 40 minutes compared to the usual 30 but at least, I managed to do the whole thing.

The ice is almost gone from the lake - what a difference a week makes!! And the ducks are back. Not many geese yet. I saw snowdrops and the greenery for crocuses and tulips today. Looks like spring is really here!

Alas, no weights or other toning exercises. I tried leg raises and it was stressful on my incision so probably will have to hold off on that for 6 weeks (OK, another 5!)

Oops -- dear gym log - I keep forgetting about you.

Today walked about two miles, about half an hour - before breakfast -- doesn't that count double?? :D

Yesterday, flitted around the house with increased heart rate, should count for cardio, for a half hour.
