Private Messages question

Had an email saying my PM box was full. When I checked, all I could find was 4 "Sent" messages. Would this be correct?

You need to clean out your inbox and sent items in the PM box.

Thanks Ikonzelman. Went to Inbox and it shows "no messages", tried to PM myself to test & it comes up with "full". What am I doing wrong please?
