Firming Up....

Getting this going for tommorow....Keeping track in my journal is just getting too messy. My goal is to firm up while pregnant. Maybe I can't lose, but I sure hope I can get some decent arms, legs, and hopefully butt! :D

My Costa Rica vacation is only 3 1/2 months after the baby comes and I want it to be like a second honeymoon. Meaning I don't want to hide in the room for fear of the pool and sun!

Good Luck! Wish I had done that during my pregnancy....

My plan is to not work out as hard, but more often than I normally would. I am going to set my goals for at least one hour a day....We'll see where that leads....

Goals:
Denise Austin Pg workout :yay: (w/4# hand weights)
Denise Austin Pg workout :yay: (w/2# hand weights)
The Firm Sculpting (modified--first 15 min) :yay:
3 mile walk with ds (couldn't....pouring rain)

Zack and I used to walk (he would ride bike) a lot last summer. I really need to get back in that habit again. I go back to work in 5 weeks and won't have much free time then. Of course, I will be super huge by then (I'm already plenty big). But I figure if walking at this point is the best way to get my legs toned because I am pretty sure Tae-Bo is out for a while!

How about weightlifting? There's a lady at my gym who lifts, and she's pregnant. You can't do the REALLY heavy stuff, but she does lots of upper body and modest lower body stuff.

Alternate your workouts so you don't do the same thing two days in a row, and take at LEAST one whole day off a week.

Such a happy time for you!

Well, I am about to go on my first walk of the summer. I normally hate walking. It is so boring and time consuming. Should be interesting. I am 6 months pregnant, it's nearly 80 degrees out, and I have a bladder the size of a tic-tac. I'll report in to see how it goes. :D

Went about as expected. I think we went about 3/4 mile. I have lots of legitimate excuses though.
1 It's 81 degrees!!! Super hot considering we were in the 50s last week.
2 Ds complained the whole time and wanted to turn around because of the heat.
3 I couldn't find my decent shoes. Can't imagine where they are. It's not as though I take my shoes off too many different places--and sure enough, I have a blister to show for it.
4 I have a pesky cramp that is pretty persistant in my lower left abdomen. I am assuming it's baby related because it's there a lot.

No more excuses tommorow! :D

I should just call this an activity journal for now since exercise is a bit limited....

Today I washed all my kitchen cupboards, inside and out. All 3 bathroom cupboards, 15 6-panel doors (yep, all the little grooves), and 12 bi-fold 6-panel closet doors. No small task. We have a huge kitchen and a ton of woodwork. That on top of my normal light cleaning. Also organized my work out room walk in storage closet.

Ok, as for exercise:
60 min, low impact step aerobics w/4# hand weights

I measured my bi-cep and since 6/7, I have lost 3/4 of an inch. Not too bad since my activity is limited. I hope I reach my goal by the time the baby is born. I was too lazy to unravel all the tape I would need to do my hips, I just did it last week, but wanted to check my arms again.

Hey A~Hope

Your doing great! The exercise and good nutrition is good for you and the baby. You will be surprised how this will work out for you by the time your little one gets here.

Do you know if its a boy or girl? Any names picked out?

Keep it up! Your doing fine!

Cheers

We went to Itasca State Park today (Headwater's of the Mississippi River) and walked for hours. I am just guessing but I would say we walked anywhere from 3-5 miles. It felt so good!! It was in the mid 70s but the trails are shady so it was wonderful.

Oh, I've been slacking! No exercise Sun or Mon.

40 min low impact step aerobics, 4# hand weights
20 min Denise Austin pregnancy work out w/4# hand weights
20 min low impact step aerobics, 4# hand weights
20 min Denise Austin pregnancy work out w/4# hand weights

**I feel like since I am not working, I have so much free time. It feels good to exercise now when I have the chance. It will be much harder to squeeze it in when I go back to work....

KathyD Tue, Jul-20-04 17:57

I missed my exercise for the last two days too. Due to rearranging the house issue. Hopefully that will be resolved tomorrow so I can resume my "normal" life.

A friend of mine had her daughter cross her legs during the ultrasound... So she was a surprise. Mine I had to wait for the 2nd ultrasound. The first one they scheduled a week too early. I was mad when I found that out. The one thing DH and I said was WE DID WANT TO KNOW... so why they scheduled before they could see was beyond me. But since there were issues with the first ultrasound, We had it done again, This time we got to find out the sex.

Good luck to you and keep up thegood work. Even if you don't stay perfectly on scheduled you are doing a world of good for you and your baby. I have 5.5 month old to prove this way of life works with pregnancy!

Cheers

Omg....I feel rotten today. Got the best night's sleep I have had in ages and woke up feeling like a wet dish rag. Go figure....The pounding head ache did not help matters. I rarely get head aches so I was glad when that finally went away. It's early and I could go to bed for the night.

I am going to squeeze in my lamest workout....

20 D.A. pg wo, 4# hand weights
