No more Carb Options at Safeway???

Regularly buy Carb Options brand products at Safeway (alfredo sauce, bbq sauce, tomato sauce etc) shop 1-2X week there. Yesterday, I couldn't find any of the products! asked at Customer service and they said they will not be re-stocking these products...though they didn't know why? Anyone have any ideas on this? and if I cannot get them there, where do you think I should go? (live in Northern Alberta)

Most likely to do with the re-labelling.
(new standards coming into effect)

It also could be that Carb Options doesn't want to "pay" for the shelf space. I have a couple of thier products but if I never bought them again I wouldn't miss them to be honest.

Hi I'm new around here. I actually stumbled on this forum when I was trying to find out about Carb Options. I e-mailed the company and the reply came back that they have discontinued the product. Shame, I really liked the BBQ and Alfredo Sauce. I have also had trouble finding the Dempsters wraps and pita's recently I hope they have not suffered the same fate as Carb Options.

Here is the Reply I got

Thank you for writing!

The Carb Options line has been discontinued. We are sorry that we do not have
any remaining stock.

Our company's goal is to provide consumers with a variety of products to meet
their needs and preferences. As you know, marketing is a complex function, and
many business factors are taken into consideration before discontinuing a
product. Before a product becomes available at the retail level, much time and
expense is involved in perfecting the formulation, consumers focus testing, and
marketing support. It truly saddens us when we must discontinue a product.
However, consumer demand is a major factor. When the level of demand is
insufficient to ensure that consumers receive high quality products at an
affordable price, the product may be discontinued.

We apologize that this product is no longer available and hope you will
continue to enjoy our products.

Thanks for your interest!

Superstore has a new line out and while I haven't look at it in great detail the low carb ketchup is fantastic.

I like the carb options drink crystals. Alot cheaper than crystal light. Going to miss them.
Has anyone noticed the kraft low carb dressing isn't in safeway either anymore. Went looking for it the last 2 weeks and couldn't see it. Bought another brand they have in the fresh veggie section. I think it was called carb one (all gone so can't check the label) and it was not too bad tasting.

you can still get low carb products at Save on foods. It is a shame that they would stop selling. I live in Edmonton and found a store just for low carbers it is called Low Carb gallery it is the best they have every thing. Super store has some and Walmart as well.I stoped shopping at Safeway just because of that.

If anyone is from Edmonton they are selling carb option products like soups, bbq sauce and ice tea at the new dollar store in westmount mall and they are only a dollar!!!

Shandy Mon, Apr-04-05 08:02

Here in Vancouver, BC you can find them at dollar stores and also for $1 at the Superstore.

Dollarama has some, I didn't realize they were out of production now! My boyfriend has been giving me grief because I've been stocking up on the teriyaki at the dollar store, I love it! But now that I know it is going out of production, I'm buying all I can find!

I have been stocking up myself on all the CarbOptions juice crystals at the Dollorama as well.
What I do miss is last summer, my husband and I would walk across the road to Dominion and be able to by Dempsters Carb Wise Hamburger Buns. Could also buy them at Walmart. Now they are nowhere to be found. Incidently, I was at Walmart just less then a month ago and a Dempsters Representative was stocking the shelves and I asked him when and if we will be seeing the buns again. He said it is a product that they only stock in the summer. I was quick to point out to him that, us "low-carbers" eat a lot of meat and on the occasion would like to have a hamburger. In reply, he said that I am probably the only person that feels this way. I was quick to tell him otherwise and then he said well for me to watch out for all the new products they are introducing this summer. Well, I have yet to find any buns this spring.
I am also slightly irritated today, as I was on my way home from work and decided to stop in at Dominion and pick up some :yum: Carb Zone Ice Cream Bars, to my dismay they have stopped carrying it and sent back all their product that they had in their freezers just yesterday. I didn't buy any yesterday, as I was getting paid today. Just my luck!

:help: If anyone knows where to find any of these products, I would be indebted to you!

I still see the Carb Zone at my local Dominion, FYI. One on Overlea in East York, and the other at College Park. Try the Nestle CarbTrim icecream - only 1 gram net carb - 5 gr of the total 7 are polydextrose (fibre) and their is 1 gram sugar alcohol. I don't see the product on the Nestle website anymore, so I fear that too is another product that has been discontinued. Well, back to making my own icecream once again. ;)
