159 and feelin' fine :D

LOL sorry for the corny title, but I have to say I am now 159 pounds and sooo happy with my progress. 150 was my original goal and I can't believe I am only 9 pounds from meeting it.

Also, my size 11 jeans I had in the closet fit much better this morning :D. Still a bit tight, but wearable!

That is terriffc you gooooo!!!!!

I can only dream of 150. It still seams so far away.

Can I ask you something? I am very worried about my skins elasticity after I am 100 pounds down. You have had such an inspirational weight loss I was wondering if you had any advice in that area. Thank you!

Wow that's great! Congratulations!

Are you really only eating 750 calories a day? I only looked at your fitday for a couple days back....

Well, I am not going to lie to you, my skin does not resemble the skin of someone who was never overweight. I think it is unrealistic to expect perfectly firm skin. I do have wings (droopy upper arms), the inside of my thighs are a little droopy, and so is my stomach. I also have a lot of old, silvery strech marks on my stomach, sides, and arms from when I was really fat.

It really isn't that bad though. I won't need surgical correction, and am hoping some of it firms up when my weight stabilizes. Do I want surgical correction? Yes, I won't lie... I would look way better with firm skin. I do think I will get surgery for my arms and a tummy tuck when I get to my goal weight, as a reward and a finalization of my new life.

However genetically I have thin skin. My cousin who was 240 and 5'3 has thick skin. She has no stretch marks on her arms (though her belly is very stretched out from pregnancy and the weight... she stores most of her fat in her stomach... she needs atkins really bad but thats another issue :/).

This is a YMMV thing. Though it is unrealistic to expect skin like a 20 year old who was always thin, individual variance in loss of elasticity and stretch marks is wide.
From my personal experience it seems to me concentration and severity of strech marks are the best indicators of loss of elasticity. SO if you only have a few in any area, odds are you haven't lost much elasticity and won't need surgery.

No no no I don't eat only 750 :D. I don't use fitday religiously anymore, when I enter stuff it is usually just to get a rough calorie count so I know how much more is should eat.

Most days I stay around 1200-1300, although some days I go lower or higher.

Shew! I worried there for a second...
What a great job you have done, how much/often do you exercise?

KIDBXRS Thu, Jan-15-04 16:06

That is good information. Thank you. I am only 35 pounds down but in certain areas I feel more jiggly (if that makes since). I have watch some shows with women that lost more weight than you or I have to loose and had allot of complications from the excess skin. I guess I worry to much. Thanks!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You will be a goal in no time!!!!

I try to exercise at least every other day, for health reasons.

Usually it will be like this; every other day I will jog for 15-20 minutes, speed walk another 10, and then walk another 15-20. Then on off days, I only walk for like 40 minutes a day. I have like 1-2 rest days where I just sit around :D.

I have also started doing some very light muscle building activites, focusing on the arms and legs. The difference is already quite noticable.
