Atkins a UK best seller

Maybe everyone already knows this but I went into WH Smith in Nottm today and they ranked Atkins diet book 16th and the highest selling diet book; I also checked out on amazon.co.uk and atkins is ranked 57th the highest ranking for a diet book by my reckoning.

Also seems there is a new edition just out for the atkins book

Happy Christmas to all low carbers, this will be my first low carb Christmas and I'm really glad of not having to eat tons of chocolate because its there - I was sick of doing it even when I could.

Oh to be so popular!

Hi Craig

I had not realised just how much of a best seller the Atkins book was until the Tonight programme on Atkins in November. They said it had been in the best selling list for about 3 years. I had no idea. I wonder how many people read it from cover to cover though?

Have a great Christmas. This will be my second low carb one and I've no desire for chocolates at all. Have treated myself to a Christmas pud, but very little else in the high carb range.

Definitely Increasing Interest

It is so good to see the message is getting across.

A journalist recently asked me to put her in touch with any LCers in the East Anglia area so that she can write an article about the Atkins diet !

I agree. It certainly felt good. Last year I didn't dare go to a Christmas party as I didn't quite trust myself to keep off the carbs. This year I went and really enjoyed not just the party but the week after!! I didn't deny myself. I had a teaspoon of mashed potato, the smallest roast potato I could find but apart from that stuck to turkey, tuna and chicken. I passed on the dessert.

Good to see you are firmly committed to LCing Little Ann.

Take care,

i bought the new atkins book! the old version was good but lacked some information on fibre and water etc...but the new version has it all included..... worth buying....
lots of places selling it for £3.99 and £4.99 (instead of the normal £7.99) like Sussex Stationers on Oxford Street, London......if anyone is interested....
