how many calories are in different types of meat?

I see a lot of people stressing that you need to keep your calorie intake up along with keeping the carbs low, but how do I factor in the calories for the types of meat I consume? When I go to the meat counter and get pork steaks -round steaks - chicken- 80% ground beef - ect. there is no calorie content. So, how do I figure out the amount of calories I am eating when I eat these things.

Is there anywhere to go, to find out meat types and the calories they contain per ounce?

Online support.....

Have you tried entering your foods into fitday.com? It's a great (not perfect, but great :p )support.

Another one, (but I've never used it for a low carb lifestyle is at WebMD.

Hi there........

Using FitDay.com will help you with finding out the caloric values of the meats you are choosing, along with the fat content and quantity of protein. I recommend keeping track of your daily menus there to be sure that you are eating enough.

You might even consider making yourself a hard copy list of your personal favourite proteins so that at a glance you can be sure that what you are eating is adequate.
