Heavy cream is more commonly known as whipping cream. At least here in Canada that is so.

The whipping cream I buy is called Heavy Whipping Cream. Some people call it heavy cream and some call it whipping cream.

Then there's Half and Half wich is a mixture of heavy cream and whole milk.

According to the computer program called Diet Power, which I use, here are some stats for them:

Heavy Cream, 1 cup = 821 calories, 88.1 fat grams, 6.64 carbs
Half and Half, 1 cup = 314 calories, 27.7 fat grams, 10.4 carbs
Regular Whole Milk, 1 cup = 150 calories, 8.15 fat grams, 11.4 carbs

So you can see why people choose the heavy whipping cream or Half and Half over whole milk.

i'm thinking and will be doing a shake tonight with about a cup of heavy cream in it with unsweetened coca and water/ice and a blender. I see on the atkings web site that it lists heavy cream but only limts me to 3 tablespoons and to watch the carbs in it.....in his new book it doesn't say anything about limit 3 tbs just says you can have it on induction.
I'm having my shake tonight since I'm at 11carbs now and need something to sleep on. Give me your ideas on WHY only limit 3.
