I have heard that morning weight is the correct weight. But I could be wrong. Seems to me that the night weight would be a reflection of your activity (or non-activity)for the day. As for comparison, I would think morning would be best before eating or drinking anything. But I am sure open for other suggestions!

Hey...yeah thats what id think

i figured itd be morning....early this morn, i weighed at 157, but just ate and am back at 160....however last night i was active...i was outside for 3 hrs, came inside, and weighed and was 157-158 ish, but then ate a salad before bed, and was 160 again...im confused as well, but id think that itd be morning as well....ure right at night it shows ure activity...but im also open to other suggestions, any and all if necessary lol....now i have another question...i go to work at 4 pm, and dont get home until around 9:45 pm tonight...well im obviously gonna have no time to eat all that time, and once i come home, will it be too late to put in a salad, for a daily dose of veggies...i dont wanna "skip" the veggies...but itll be almost 10 pm!, what should i do??? im worried that if i eat that late, the lbs will show the next day or so....thank u for ure advice!! id appreciated all of it :) please respond at ure soonest conveinence...thanks!

I don't think there is a right time, just pick a time and be consistent.

I do find that when I weigh in the morning, naked, after using the toilet, before eating or drinking anything, I get my lowest reading of the day, so for me, that's when I weigh.

weigh- in

i did that the other morning, i woke up, and i peed, then i weighed, after brushing my teeth and washing my face, and it was a low reading, so i think ill stick with that, since thats the "natural" weight, and real weight, not after eating or putting on clothes...but b4 all that right when u get up in the morn, ill do that for now on! thank u....

Just make sure its the same time/situation everyday.

I weigh in the morning before I have breakfast and it is very consistent.

Whenever you decide to do it, keep it constant.
I do it every morning buck nekkid and after I use the bathroom

I agree with everyone else. Being consistent is key. For me, first thing in the morning with little or nothing on after going to the bathroom.

I tend to weigh myself in the morning. Like everyone else said I think the main thing is to be consisitent about it.

CindyLJP37 Thu, Apr-15-04 05:26

Same here. I weigh right after I get up and use the bathroom. And yes I weigh naked too :)

And just for the heck of it I will occasionally weigh at night also and have been as much as 5# heavier before I go to bed than I was 12 hours ago in the morning!

As long as it's the same time every day, the scale should provide a sufficient guideline. I would suggest, though, that you don't weigh EVERY day, since that might make you insane! :) I weigh once a week (2 hours after lunch, before workout, in workout clothes).

As far as your question about eating so late...I have heard that the calories etc...count no matter what time of the day you eat. I have also heard that eating late is BAD..BAD..BAD. So I guess it's a toss up. Try it both ways and see how you feel, how you sleep after eating. It probably is one of those "whatever works for you" deals that can only be decided after you see how your body reacts.

My partner (who is on a controlled-carb plan for her type 2 diabetes) was advised to eat a small carb snack before bed, about 2 hours after finishing dinner, in order to reduce her fasting glucose level. She has a tablespoon of peanut butter. Not sure how it works, but her fasting glucose in the morning tends to be a bit lower when she's done it for a few days.

I've only been dieting for a few weeks but i've been weighing myself once a week, sunday mornings. I don't think my scale is too accurate.

juksey Sun, Apr-18-04 16:06

My rule is Sunday mornings,, (usually got more time).
After going the loo. (remember that 1 litre of water = 1 kilo in weight.)
wearing similar clothes or naked
scales in the same place on tile or lino. (even if you need to mark the floor)
i find just moving the scales can change the reading
