Induction over. Hardly any loss1

Alright, what gives?! The past 2 weeks of stuck to staying below 20 carbs. It was pretty much by the book. I lost a total of 4 lbs and that might be negligable given a crappy scale.

I have the Keto strips, and I've been in Ketosis from day 3 on. The levels have fluctuated, but there has always been at least a trace on the tests.

Should I stay less than 20 carbs or will the additional carbs help speed up or fluctuate my metabolism?

I'm getting discouraged on this. I did this diet a few years ago and lost about 20lbs. Back then, It seems like I ate mostly meet and cheese, but now I'm trying to eat a bit healther by mixing in more salads and veggies(within the allowed amount).

Suggestions?

Hi Jeff.......

My number one suggestion to you would be to start a journal and post the details of your menus. It's kind of difficult to know what might be going on without knowing exactly what you have been eating. Have you been using FitDay.com or something similiar to track what you are eating? It's possible that you have been eating too little, and that would slow your loss as well.

Jeff, congrats on those 4 lbs. It may not seem like a lot to you but it's 4 lbs less than you were 2 weeks ago. Typical losses on induction are 10% of your total goal - with 20 lbs to lose that would be 2 lbs for you - you doubled it.

With little fat to lose (comparitively speaking) your journey will seem slower and longer, but when you look at it percentage wise you'll see you're right on track. 10 lbs for you is 50% of your goal - for someone with 100 lbs to lose it would only be 10%.

My advice is to follow the plan as written - get on with OWL. You may be one of those people who loses better with a few more carbs, I know I am :) By increasing carbs with good veggies and a few nuts you'll be increasing the range of foods you eat. The trick with LC is that you must make it a WOL, having more foods to choose from makes that easier. Feeling restricted in your food choices is a sure path to resentment and cheating.

Enjoy your loss and keep up the good work.
